BitStone’s story began in Cluj-Napoca in 2006.
Computer scientists Grigore Vlad and Albert Zemba founded BitStone out of a shared passion for technology and software engineering. Their very first projects were for Swiss customers. Individual development projects became long-term customer relationships, some of which have lasted more than ten years.
Alongside this, a strong engineering organisation grew in Cluj. Today, it has more than 100 specialists in software engineering, cloud, AI, product development and quality engineering.
The next logical step followed in mid-2025: the establishment of BitStone (Schweiz) AG.
Together with Andreas Götz, BitStone expanded its Swiss presence, providing local contacts and taking direct responsibility towards customers.
This gave an organisational form to what BitStone had practised for many years:

Grigore is one of BitStone’s two founders and has shaped the company since 2006.
He focuses on technology, engineering and building a strong software organisation in Cluj for the long term.

He represents BitStone’s entrepreneurial development, long-term customer relationships and the commitment to combining technical expertise with reliable collaboration.

Andreas Götz is responsible for customer relationships and market development in Switzerland.
As a direct contact, he connects the business requirements of Swiss companies with BitStone’s product, AI and engineering expertise.
